Malaria

Malaria is an illness that can cause serious health risks, and in some cases even death. It is spread through the bite of an infected mosquito, and if you are travelling to high risk areas it is recommended to fully protect yourself against the disease.

Symptoms can present as soon as seven days after being infected but could take as long as 12 months. If this were to happen after travelling to an area with a malaria risk, you should seek medical attention immediately.
